NOTHING LEAVES
without YOU.
Standby Lawyer is designed around one rule: it prepares, you decide. Here is exactly where that line sits.
THE APPROVAL gate.
Every action that reaches a client, a court or a card passes through you first.
Standby prepares.
Intake summary, engagement letter, payment request, client update.
You decide.
Approve, edit, decline or ask for more information.
Then it happens.
Only approved items are sent, requested or recorded.
FOUR RULES we build by.
These are product rules, not marketing lines. Everything Standby Lawyer does has to fit inside them.
The lawyer approves everything.
Standby Lawyer prepares; the lawyer decides.
Intake summaries, engagement communications and payment requests stay drafts until you approve them. Representation is always the lawyer's decision.
No legal advice.
Legal questions go to the lawyer.
When a client asks “What are my chances?” or “Should I accept this settlement?”, Standby records the question and routes it to you. It does not answer.
Nothing goes out without approval.
Nothing is sent, filed, charged, or communicated to a client without attorney approval.
Routine updates use only answers you have confirmed, under communication rules you set. If an answer is not confirmed, it comes back to you.
Every firm stands alone.
Each firm's data is isolated to that firm.
Nothing from one firm's matters is shared with another firm.
WHERE THE line SITS.
Three lanes. Every task Standby Lawyer touches belongs to exactly one of them.

QUESTIONS WORTH asking us.
Standby Lawyer is in development, and full security documentation will be published before launch. Until then, ask us anything. We would rather you ask.
- Where is my firm's data stored?
- Who at Standby can see my matters?
- How is one firm's data kept separate from another's?
- What happens to my data if I leave?
- How are client documents protected?
- How are my approvals recorded?
AI SHOULD NOT
PRACTICE LAW.
You should.
