Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This policy explains what information Standby Lawyer (“we”, “us”) collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us.
What we collect
When you try the demo
Your name, the pretend firm name you make up, your email address, the phone number you would call from, the practice area you pick, whether you asked for email updates, and the decision you make at the end of the demo.
When you ask to activate Standby Lawyer
Your name, email address, firm name, phone number (optional), the plan you are interested in, your main practice area, and whether you asked for email updates.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, firm name (optional), the topic you choose and your message.
Technical information
To stop abuse, we keep a short, one-way coded identifier derived from your connection (not your raw IP address) and limit how many forms can be sent from it per hour. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. If bot protection by Cloudflare Turnstile is switched on, Cloudflare processes information about your browser to tell people from bots.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The demo remembers your progress in your browser tab (session storage) so you do not lose your place if you reload. It is cleared when you close the tab.
Please do not send confidential client information
The demo uses pretend details only. Please do not enter real client names, case details or any confidential or privileged information in any form on this site.
How we use your information
- To run the demo and email you your demo summary.
- To respond to your messages and activation requests, and to follow up about them.
- To send you news about Standby Lawyer, but only if you ticked the box asking for updates. Every update email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
How long we keep it
Pretend firm details and demo access codes are deleted automatically 24 hours after you start the demo. We keep your contact details and the rest of your request until you ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them for the purposes above.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website, such as our web host, our email delivery provider and, if enabled, Cloudflare for bot protection. They may only use it to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from update emails at any time using the link in any update email.
- Access, correct or delete the information we hold about you by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under privacy laws, and we will honor them.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and submissions are stored privately in our website’s administration area, which only authorized people can access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
This site is intended for lawyers and law firm staff. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
